Skai Jackson is dealing with legal troubles.
The Jessie alum was arrested for a domestic incident at the Universal Studios Hollywood theme park Aug. 9, according to an Aug. 13 statement to E! News from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Office.
Based on the initial investigation, it was determined that Jackson was the "primary aggressor," and she "was arrested for misdemeanor spousal battery," per police.
The 22-year-old was transported to the West Hollywood Station for booking, and based on public arrest records viewed by E! News was released hours later. Per the arrest record, Jackson's bail was originally set at $20,000.
The Sheriff's Department noted that the investigation into Jackson's misdemeanor is still ongoing and will be sent to the Van Nuys Superior Court House in Los Angeles for filing.
E! News has reached out to Jackson's reps for comment, but has not heard back.
The former Disney Channel star has not commented on the incident publicly, but has remained active on social media, sharing a photo to Instagram Aug. 11 from the Variety Power of Young Hollywood on Aug. 8 with the caption, "Thank you @variety."
Jackson is perhaps best known for her role as Zuri Ross on the Disney show Jessie—as well as its spin-off Bunk'd—and for her turn on season 29 of Dancing With the Stars where she placed 5th in 2020.
And although Jessie wrapped in 2015, she and the cast try to remain in contact whenever possible.
"I feel like we're all living different types of lives," she told E! News in April. "A lot of us don't even live in the same state so it's hard to see each other. But they're doing so many amazing, great things that I'm really proud of them. We definitely check up on each other."
And she's thankful for the time she spent growing up on the show.
"I had a great experience," she continued. "I got to learn a lot being in the industry at a young age, being able to have opportunities I feel like probably the average kid wouldn't be able to."
